Preserving Macroeconomic Stability and Financing Resilience and the Green Transition in the Face of Energy Price Shocks

The discussion will examine how Finance Ministries can preserve macroeconomic stability and fiscal space while financing resilience and the green transition amid higher, more volatile energy prices. Ministers will exchange practical lessons on managing the economic impacts of energy price shocks, strengthening resilience to future energy and climate shocks, and mobilizing finance for adaptation, climate resilience, and energy sector diversification. Finance Ministers will also endorse the Coalition’s fourth Climate Action Statement and launch a consultation on the update of the Coalition’s flagship climate action guide.

The event will feature scene-setting remarks from the Co-Chair Ministers, a ministerial roundtable, and concluding reflections from senior leadership of the IMF and World Bank. During the plenary session, several speaking slots will be available for Ministers in attendance
