Summary: The meeting will be hosted by H.E. Mehmet Şimşek, Minister of Treasury and Finance Türkiye; the COP31 Presidency, the Coalition’s Co-Chairs H.E. Tomislav Coric, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Croatia and Hon. Henry Musasizi, Minister of Finance Planning and Economic Development, Uganda. Uniquely bringing together Ministers of Finance and Ministers of Climate and Environment from a diverse range of countries, this event will explore how cross-government collaboration can advance climate action and translate national climate ambitions into implementation. Ministries of Finance: Turning Analysis into Action

Organized by the Coalition and the Danish Ministry of Finance and Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The event will mark the launch of the next phase of the Coalition’s Economic Analysis for Green and Resilient Transitions Initiative, including a new programme supported by Denmark. Sam is invited to speak at the event.

Joint event with NGFS - one year of the Joint Dialogue Platform

Organized by the Coalition and NGFS, this joint event will bring together finance ministers and central bank representatives to reflect on lessons from the first year of the NGFS-CFMCA Joint Dialogue Platform and discuss priorities for continued collaboration, including transition finance and economic, fiscal, and financial resilience. The event will also launch the new strategic document that sets out the vision and direction for the NGFS–Coalition partnership over the coming years, marking the next phase of the collaboration. Co-Chair teams to attend; one of the Co-Chairs to join the panel.

Mobilizing Finance for Climate-Resilient and Green Investment: A Peer Exchange with the Coalition of Finance Ministers for Climate Action

Location: Arab Climate Pavilion. 

The event is organized by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) in coordination with the Coalition and the Ministry of Finance, Lao PDR and UNDP and co-hosted by the Global Carbon Council (GCC). The event will explore how six finance ministries translate national climate plans into financeable investment pipelines, focusing on institutional arrangements, financing instruments and partnerships. It will provide structured peer feedback on Lao PDR’s Climate Resilient Green Investment Mobilization Plan, examine how carbon markets can complement budgetary, concessional and private finance through experiences from the GCC and the League of Arab States, and identify concrete opportunities for peer support and steps toward Lao PDR’s potential membership in the Coalition. Co-Chairs invited to speak.
