Implementing NDCs: how Finance Ministries can integrate climate goals into economic strategy

This panel event will bring together finance ministry representatives, partner organizations, and high-level experts from around the world to discuss how Ministries of Finance are driving the implementation of Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) by integrating climate objectives into economic strategies, development plans, and fiscal policies. The event will feature country case studies, highlight best practices, share expert contributions, and explore ways to mobilize finance flows to achieve the USD 1.3 trillion ambition for developing countries by 2035.

Additionally, the event will further explore and refine the Coalition’s role in advancing the implementation of relevant recommendations from the COP30 Circle of Finance Ministers Report and the Baku to Belem Roadmap.

The event is open to all with Blue Zone access, and a recording will be made available afterwards.

If you are interested in participating in the panel, please contact the Coalition Secretariat at coalitionsecretariat@financeministersforclimate.org

Inside the Economic Engine Room: Ministries of Finance and Economic Analysis for Green and Resilient Transitions

The event aims to provide new insights into how Ministries of Finance are taking on a stronger role in implementing national climate policy, driving investment and integrating climate goals into core economic and fiscal policies.

The Coalition of Finance Ministers for Climate Action’s Helsinki Principle 4 (HP4) workstream, led by the Danish Ministry of Finance, drives work on mainstreaming climate action into economic and fiscal policies and tools. At COP30, the Coalition will present insights and country experiences from the Coalition’s Economic Analysis for Green and Resilient Transitions Initiative, a major effort to support Ministries of Finance in building the analytical capabilities they need to assess the economic effects of physical climate risk and climate mitigation and adaptation measures.
