The Global Climate Policy Project (GCPP) at Harvard and MIT will present modeling from its flagship report Building a Climate Coalition: Aligning Carbon Pricing, Trade, and Development and preview a pilot decision-support tool designed to help policymakers assess alternative responses to the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM). The session will examine the climate, fiscal, and competitiveness implications of three broad approaches—maintaining current policies, aligning domestic carbon pricing with the EU, or coordinating with other countries as part of a climate coalition—highlighting potential effects on emissions, fiscal revenues, prices, and industrial competitiveness.

Attendees are invited to complete a short survey included at the following link. Responses will help shape the discussion and future seminars.
